1
Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers;
2 but their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law they meditate day and night.
3 They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper.

- Psalm 1:1-3 NRSV

Pursuing Vision together

As a church family, we are collectively cultivating space for vision-building as we start the new year. We would like to be purposeful in pursuing vision together, there are several opportunities and we’d like our church family to participate in some way. There are going to be weekly opportunities to engage vision for our church, your families, and personally.

We pray that as you engage in vision-building you will begin to see where God may be calling our church, your family, and you personally to be planted and deepen roots that would yield flourishing fruit

We are excited to see what God will do this 2021 year & we would love for you to be a part of it!

The Art of Awareness

In pursuit of cultivating space for God to speak, a guide with prompts will be provided to help us grow in acknowledging the access awareness creates in the process of receiving vision. You will be presented with new opportunities each week and we ask that you willingly engage the unfamiliar, see God show up, to experience and receive vision. This guide has options to engage individually or as a family. One of our biggest values is that our kids are equally as capable in contributing if we give them the opportunity, so we ask our parents to extend the invitation to the children to participate.

Focus Prayer Service

Another component we strongly believe helps cultivate vision at the beginning of the year is intentional prayer. To incorporate this aspect, we will be holding a weekly morning in-person prayer service. Due to the pandemic, we will be following the same gathering guidelines we have for our Sunday morning services. If you don’t feel comfortable attending in-person we invite you to pray with us from your homes.

We will be focusing this time of prayer around the themes of the sermon series. Each week will include a Focus prompt and companion scripture. Dates for the prayer service will be Thursdays January 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, and February 4th from 6-7A.

Scripture Memory Challenge

Our main scripture passage for this year’s VOH is Psalm 1:1-3 and we wanted to also pursue vision-building by intentionally camping out on this passage. We will share a portion of this scripture each week for five weeks and a method of engagement we are promoting provides a new way to engage the scripture each day during the week. See graphic for the challenge and method of engagement.
